From the coastal charm of Kannur and the unrestrained beauty of the wilderness in the jungles of Nagarhole to the old-world majestic grandeur of Mysore and the vibrant bustle of cosmopolitan Bengaluru, this seven-day tour has been crafted to give travellers a well-rounded feel of both north Malabar and Karnataka. Succumb to the allure of Kannur with a visit to the city’s Lighthouse, which gives a glimpse into its maritime and trading past, offset by views of the coastline. A leisurely stroll along the Cliff Walkway lends itself perfectly to sunset views of the Arabian Sea at golden hour.

Adventure-seekers will be thrilled at the prospect of a wildlife safari through the famed Nagarhole jungles in Kabini. Once the adrenaline rush has subsided, onwards to Mysore or the Royal City where you will be plunged into the traditions of a bygone era at the Mysore Palace. A testimony to timeless architectural and engineering foresight, get to know what it took to build the country’s most magnificent palace.

Spend a morning at Srirangapatna island, located only 40 minutes from Mysore, and get insights into the battles waged between Tip Sultan and the British. Pay your respects at some of the city’s other monuments and grand old structures as well as at the famous century-old local market. The Chamundeshwari Temple, located atop the Chamundi Hills (13 kilometres east of Mysore), is another site of interest that has been patronised for centuries by Mysore rulers.

On your final day of the tour, enjoy the buzz of Bengaluru – one of India’s most progressive cities with an enviable entertainment and nightlife scene.

On arrival at Kannur International Airport/railway station, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel. Later in the evening, head towards the Kannur Lighthouse. A climb to the top offers a bird’s eye view of Kannur’s splendid coastline. The Lighthouse also houses a small but well-maintained museum within its complex, which bears the distinction of being only the fourth of its kind in the country after Alappuzha, Chennai and Mahabalipuram. A gigantic optic used in the Lakshadweep Lighthouse during the 1885-1962 period, a 19th century double-wick lamp of Kannur Lighthouse, a huge fog-bell used to alert shipmen and a deep-sea buoy are some of the exhibits. Finish your day with a short visit to the Cliff Walkway, adjacent to the Lighthouse, for some spectacular views of the Arabian Sea. Catching a beautiful sunset is a bonus. Return to your hotel. Stay overnight in Kannur.
