If unwinding against some of the most awe-inspiring natural backdrops is your idea of a truly rejuvenating getaway, this seven-day package is for you. Like a vibrant tapestry with richly-varied threads, enjoy diverse facets of north Kerala’s dynamic landscape. Give yourself a taste of things to come with a private houseboat cruise along the still pristine and relatively untouched Valiyaparamba backwaters in Nileshwaram. Take a trip on the wild side with an exhilarating kayaking experience through the scenic Kavvayi Backwaters framed by dense mangrove forests. Make your way to Kannur and enroute, stop off at the Kunhimangalam village renowned for its bronze and bell metal craftsmanship.

Kannur never fails to charm with its Lighthouse and Cliff Walkway that serve as the best vantage spots for sweeping views of the coastline and Arabian Sea. Beach-hopping is one of Kannur’s best-kept secrets, so discover largely unexplored stretches such as the Kizhunna  Ezhara, Meenkunnu and Thotttada beaches. The five-kilometre Muzhappilangad beach, located between Kannur and neighbouring Thalassery and dubbed Asia’s longest drive-in beach is the perfect spot from which to soak in a sunset at golden hour.

Wayanad, with its dreamy mountains and misty peaks lends itself perfectly to the last leg of the trip. Make a pit stop at a tea estate and learn about the intricacies of tea-making or visit a  coffee or spice plantation. As your trip looms to an end, test your endurance and become completely one with nature on a seven-hour hike that will see you climbing up the spine of a mountain that overlooks a breathtaking lake and descending down a deep valley. Wash your worries away as you plunge into a natural pool at the end.

On arrival at Kannur International/Mangalore airport, you will be transferred to Nileshwaram. Check-in to your resort. Late afternoon, enjoy a private houseboat cruise along the Valiyaparamba backwaters, considered one of the most spectacular stretches in Kerala. The fact that there are far less houseboats here compared to the backwaters of Central Kerala, makes this experience authentic. Stay overnight in Nileshwaram.
Day 2

The day commences with a short drive to the Kavvayi Backwaters. From here, enjoy a delightful kayaking experience through the scenic backwaters bordered by dense mangrove forests. A special seafood lunch can be organised at a local home framed by beach on one side and idyllic backwaters on the other. Return to your resort in the evening. Stay overnight in Nileshwaram.
Day 03

After breakfast, proceed towards Kannur. Stop at a small village of craftsmen, renowned for their craftsmanship in bronze and bell metal. This village located just under an hour’s drive from Nileshwaram is famous for its metal artisans who cast magnificent bronze lamps, sculptures and other items. Many temples in Kerala as well as the Mangalore and Coorg region of Karnataka have idols made of panchaloha (five metals) from here. Though there used to be over 100 families engaged in this craft, they are fast dwindling. Continue on to Kannur via Madayippara and check in to your beach resort. Later in the evening, head towards the Kannur Lighthouse. A climb to the top offers a bird’s eye view of Kannur’s splendid coastline. The Lighthouse also houses a small but well-maintained museum within its complex, which bears the distinction of being only the fourth of its kind in the country after Alappuzha, Chennai and Mahabalipuram. A gigantic optic used in the Lakshadweep Lighthouse during the 1885-1962 period, a 19th century double-wick lamp of Kannur Lighthouse, a huge fog-bell used to alert shipmen and a deep-sea buoy are some of the exhibits. Finish your day with a short visit to the Cliff Walkway, adjacent to the Lighthouse, for some spectacular views of the Arabian Sea. Return to your hotel. Stay overnight in Kannur.
Day 04

Spend the day either relaxing and enjoying the beach in front of your resort or beach-hopping in and around Kannur. Kannur is known for its spectacular, clean and largely unexplored beaches. We recommend Kizhunna Ezhara beach, Meenkunnu beach and Thottada beach. In the evening, head to Muzhappilangad drive-in beach, 40 mins from town for a spectacular sunset. Dubbed the longest Drive-In Beach in Asia, Muzhappilangad consistently draws in visitors with the pristine promise of its five-kilometre stretch of sand to drive along. Stay overnight in Kannur.
Day 05

After breakfast, you will be transferred by road to the hills of Wayanad. On the way, stop at a tea estate and learn about the process of tea making. Check in to your hotel. In the evening, visit a coffee or spice plantation. Stay overnight in Wayanad. Transfer back to your hotel. Stay in Wayanad.
Day 06

This morning take a jeep ride to experience Chembra Peak trek, accompanied by your guide. Return to your hotel in the afternoon. Stay in Wayanad.
Day 07

After breakfast, you will be transferred by road to Kannur International Airport or railway station for your onward journey.
